Las Buenas Amigas "Español"

Las Buenas Amigas es una organización sin fines de lucro, fundada en el 1986 con el propósito de unir a la comunidad Latina Lesbica en Nueva York y las áreas cercanas de los tres estados Norestes. Entre sus fundadoras están lesbianas con diversos orígenes étnicos conectados por culturas Latino Americanas. Nosotras servimos primariamente a la Latina Lesbiana que habla Español y nuestra base esta compuesta por inmigrantes recién llegadas a el estado.

También incluimos programación en Ingles e Ingles mezclado con Español (“Spanglish”), y tenemos seguimiento entre Latinas Lesbianas bilingües y biculturales nacidas en los Estados Unidos. En nuestra unidad formamos una organización que educa, sirve y se organiza en contra de la opresión y homofobia. En esta manera, Las Buenas Amigas ha sido en los últimos 25 años una gran familia diversa, unida por nuestra misión de educar, ofrecer apoyo social y organización política a la Latina Lesbiana. Las Buenas Amigas también ofrece deporte, recreación y conferencias que nos ayuda a apoyar los vínculos de amistad comunitarios creados en nuestra organización, y nos presenta a mujeres que llegan buscando nuestro apoyo.

Las Buenas Amigas crea una presencia Latina Lesbiana que es visible, positiva, en un lugar rico y seguro para abogar, debatir, informar, tomar acción y educarnos nosotras mismas sobre los asuntos que afectan nuestra comunidad.

Las Buenas Amigas "English"

Las Buenas Amigas is a non-profit organization, created in 1986 with the goal of uniting the Latina Lesbian community of New York and nearby Tri-State areas. Within its founders were lesbian women of diverse ethnic origins connected with the Latin American cultures.

We primarily serve Latina Lesbians who speak Spanish in Spanish, and our base is Latin American Lesbians who are newly immigrant. We also include some programming in English and mixed English/Spanish (“Spanglish”), and have a following amongst Latina Lesbians who are bilingual and bicultural born in the United States.

In our unity we form an organization that can educate, serve and organize against oppression and homophobia. In this matter, Las Buenas Amigas has been in the last 25 years a great diverse family, united in our mission to educate, offer social support and organize politically Latina Lesbians. Las Buenas Amigas also offer sports, recreation and yearly retreats to better support the friendships formed in our organization and to introduce us to those who are looking for social support in our organization. Las Buenas Amigas looks to create a Latina Lesbian presence that is visible, positive in our society in a space that is rich and safe to organize advocacy, discussions, inform, take action and educate ourselves in topics which affect our community.
